Your ship, the MS Movenpick Radamis II has 75 individually air-conditioned Deluxe Cabins, each 20 square metres. Itinerary
Day 1
London to Cairo

Fly non-stop on EgyptAir from London Heathrow to Cairo (4 hours 40 mins). On arrival in the Egyptian capital you will be met by your Tour Manager, a trained Egyptologist, and transferred to the Movenpick Cairo-Pyramids Park Resort at Giza, located close to the Pyramids.

Day 2
Cairo

A morning visit to the magnificent Museum of Antiquities in the centre of Cairo affords the opportunity to gaze upon the unique treasures of Tutankhamun himself, before a free afternoon to enjoy some of the city’s myriad treasures. You may like to visit the mosques and churches of Old Cairo, including a trip up to the 19th century Mohammed Ali Mosque in the iconic and dominating confines of the Citadel. Meals: B

Day 3
Cairo

Surely one of the highlights of your journey, the Great Pyramids of Giza have been amazing visitors for millennia and this morning you will explore these timeless monuments, together with the Sphinx, whose true significance remains a mystery even today. This afternoon there is the option to visit the ancient remains of Memphis and Saqqara. Meals: B

Day 4
Luxor and Karnak Temples

Flying to Luxor (1 hour 5 mins), you board the Mövenpick Radamis II in time for lunch. After lunch visit the superbly preserved XVIIIth Dynasty Luxor Temple and the astounding Temple at Karnak. Luxor Temple was built over 4000 years ago, and represents the epoch of the once mighty city of Thebes and the worship of the god Amun. Karnak Temple was built over 4,000 years ago, Karnak’s immense Hypostyle Hall alone contains the phenomenal sight of 134 towering columns of intricate stonework. Overnight in Luxor. Meals: B L D

Day 5
Valleys of the Kings and Queens

There is the option of rising at dawn to take a hot air balloon flight over Luxor. Please advise at the time of booking if you would like to take this excursion (please see ?Pre Bookable Option Excursions? below). Today cross the Nile to the West Bank and the spectacular mortuary complexes of the Valleys of the Kings and Queens. Returning via the elegant Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, you pass the Colossi of Memnon en route back to the boat. This afternoon is at leisure, sailing along the timeless Nile, bound for Edfu. Overnight at Edfu. Meals: B L D

Day 6
Edfu. Kom Ombo, Aswan

Morning visit to the temple of Horus at Edfu. Continue sailing to Kom Ombo and after lunch visit the Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the two gods Sobek and Horus, from where there is also a fine view over the river. In the late afternoon, sail to Aswan where you will moor overnight. Meals: B L D

Day 7
High Dam, Temple of Philae

Morning sightseeing, including the High Dam, The Unfinished Obelisk and then continuing to the beautiful Temple of Philae, rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser when the dam was constructed. This afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Aswan. Meals: B L D

Day 8
Abu Simbel option, Cairo

This morning disembark after breakfast, with an opportunity to visit the spectacular temples of Abu Simbel by air, before the EgyptAir flight back to Cairo (1 hour 25 minutes). Built by Ramses II, the setting of this magnificent structure, besides the shores of Lake Nasser, makes it one of the most spectacular of Egypt’s ancient sites. Please advise at the time of booking if you would like to take this excursion. Return to Cairo where upon your arrival you’ll be transferred to the Sonesta Cairo Hotel and Casino. Meals: B L D

Day 9
Cairo to London Heathrow

A morning flight on EgyptAir takes you back to London today, arriving at Heathrow early this afternoon. Meals: B
